Wolves assign Manson and Schell to Gladiators, Recall Berkhoel

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have been assigned defenseman Lane Manson and center Brad Schell from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. The Gladiators also announced that goaltender Adam Berkhoel has been recalled to Chicago.

Manson spent the 2003-2004 season with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. In 72 games with the Warriors, the 6'8" defensiveman tallied 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points and accumulated 253 penalty minutes. The Watrous, Saskatchewan native was selected in Round 4 of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, #124 overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Schell comes to the Gladiators after spending the past five seasons with the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL. The Scott, Saskatchewan native appeared in 71 games last season with the Chiefs, notching 35 goals and 57 assists for 92 points. The center was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in Round 6, #167 overall, of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Before being assigned to the Gladiators by Chicago on October 10, 2004, Berkhoel relieved Wolves starter Michael Garnett in a 5-1 preseason lost against the Milwaukee Admirals on October 5th. The goalie out of St Paul, Minnesota registered 12 saves on 14 shots in net.

The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators begin their second season on the road October 22nd, before hosting in-state rival Augusta on Friday, October 29th at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
