
Checkers prepare to grill Lynx

CHARLOTTE, NC â The Charlotte Checkers training camp is underway but now it's time to test the (frozen) water. This Friday, the Checkers face off against the Augusta Lynx at 7:00 p.m. in the first of two preseason games this weekend.
This Friday, October 15th, the Checkers travel to Augusta where they will take on the Lynx at the Augusta Sports Center. On Saturday, October 16th, the Checkers gain the home-ice advantage as they welcome the Lynx to Cricket Arena.
Tickets to Saturday's game will be $5 for general admission and free to season ticket holders. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. The tailgating party originally scheduled for the home preseason game has been rescheduled for Opening Night, Saturday, October 30th.
Other news: The Checkers still have three practices left before they debut on Saturday. In addition to an incredible class of players, Mike Pelino â Assistant Coach for the New York Rangers â is in town to help Coach Derek Wilkinson prepare for the season.
