Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV â The Wheeling Nailers and ABC-owned WEAE-AM are excited to announce that ESPN Radio 1250 will carry the play-by-play broadcast of 25 Nailers games for the 2004-2005 season. It's the second year that the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins will have select games broadcast on Pittsburgh's top rated sports talk station.
ESPN Radio 1250 President/General Manager Dennis Begley announced the agreement. "The Nailers were divisional and conference champions a year ago, and we're pleased to bring their play-by-play to the Pittsburgh audience again this season," Begley said. "It's a great opportunity to hear the exploits of some future Penguin players."
"The Wheeling Nailers broke several franchise records last season, with new ownership and a new coach, and we hope to build on that success," said David Flatley, Vice President of Business Operations for the Nailers. "our partnership with ESPN Radio 1250 is a great opportunity to expose our product to the Pittsburgh market, since we play our home games only 55 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh."
