Wolves and Admirals Announce Amtrak Rivalry
September 28, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves have teamed up with Amtrak and the Milwaukee Admirals for the 2009-10 Amtrak Rivalry.
Amtrak, whose Hiawatha line features a 90-minute trip between Chicago and Milwaukee, will provide an added element of competition for the 10-game, head-to-head series between the clubs this season: a trophy to the winner of the regular-season series. A most valuable player will also be selected based upon the most outstanding individual performance in the 10 games at Chicago's Allstate Arena and the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
"We appreciate Amtrak's involvement in our rivalry with Milwaukee, and look forward to enjoying convenient, relaxing and hopefully celebratory rides home from Milwaukee on Amtrak," said Wolves Vice President of Partnerships Mike Gordon.
The Amtrak Rivalry games are as follows:
Allstate Arena Bradley Center
Sat., Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Wed., Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
Sat., Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. Fri., Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.
Wed., Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. Sat., Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Sat., March 6 at 7 p.m. Tue., March 16 at 7 p.m.
Wed., April 7 at 7 p.m. Fri., April 9 at 7 p.m.
"We are excited to be a partner with the Chicago Wolves," said Amtrak Marketing Director Tracy Robinson. "As the 2009 season starts, we wish the Wolves much success."
Milwaukee earned a 6-2-0-2 series victory over Chicago last season, while the Wolves were 6-3-0-1 victors in the 10-game series in 2007-08. Overall, Chicago has posted a 71-66-1-3-11 all-time regular-season record against Milwaukee in 15 years of competition.
The first Amtrak Rivalry game will take place this Saturday, October 3, when the Wolves host the Admirals in their home opener at the Allstate Arena at 7 p.m. For more information, or tickets to Wolves home games, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit chicagowolves.com.
