Pirates Reduce Camp Number

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League announced this afternoon that they have released three players from their 2009 Training Camp.

Forwards Mark Voakes and Tim Kraus and defensemen Brian Kilburg were released.

The moves bring the Pirates roster to 24 heading into Wednesday's pre-season finale against the University of New Brunswick Reds.

The Pirates complete their pre-season on Wednesday at the Portland Ice Arena when the University of New Brunswick Reds visit for a 7 p.m. start. All ages, general admission tickets are only $7 per game and are available at the Pirates Office (located at 94 Free Street in Portland), by calling (207) 828-4665 ext. 350 or by visiting https://www.formspring.com/forms/Pirates-Exhibition_games. Cash only tickets will also be available at the door.

The Pirates open the 2009-2010 American Hockey League regular season with a pair of road games. This Saturday (October 3rd) the Pirates will be in Springfield to meet the Falcons followed by a Friday, October 9th game against the River Rats in Albany. Both games can be heard live on Atlantic Coast Radio's WLOB 95.5FM beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m.

The Pirates 2009-2010 home opener will take place on Saturday, October 10th when the Providence Bruins visit the Cumberland County Civic Center for a 7 p.m. start. Tickets for the home opener, as well as all other Pirates home games at the Cumberland County Civic Center, go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 25th by calling (207) 775-3458, visiting the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office or on-line at www.portlandpirates.com.

Ticket plans for the 2009-2010 season are still available at the Pirates office, located at 94 Free Street in Portland.
