Houston Aeros News Release

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Aeros closed the book on the preseason tonight in Cedar Park and it again took a shootout to decide it. Jon DiSalvatore, Morten Madsen and Peter Zingoni scored in the shootout and G Wade Dubielewicz made 24 saves for the win.

The Stars got on the board first at the 7:33 mark of the second period when goaltender Wade Dubielewica couldn't hold on to a Brandon Straub slap shot from the point. Jordie Benn and Brad Miller were credited with the assists.

The Aeros would answer a little over a minute later at 8:57 when Jean-Michel Daoust's blue-line shot deflected off the chest of Chad Rau to knot it up at one.

The two teams would again trade blows in the third period when Texas Center Kevin DeVergilio's wrister found the twine at the 8:11 mark. Gregg Johnson then knotted the game back up 50 seconds later.

The Aeros open up the 2009-10 regular season Friday, October 2 when they travel to Winnipeg to take on the Manitoba Moose at the MTS Centre. The team returns to Toyota Center for their home opener the following Friday, October 9, to face the Stars where the first 3,000 fans will receive rally towels.
