
Wolves Acquire Prince Williams, Waive Quinton Chievous

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, today announced the team has acquired guard Prince Williams from the available player pool. In an accompanying move, the Wolves waived forward Quinton Chievous.
Williams (6-5, 200) graduated from East Carolina University in 2016, ranking eighth in career assists for the Pirates. The shooting guard was voted the American Athletic Conference's Most Improved Player his senior year while averaging 10.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 40.2% from the three-point line.
Williams has played two seasons in the NBA G League, appearing in 24 games with the Greensboro Swarm during the 2016-17 season and in 16 games this season with the Texas Legends before being waived on Feb. 17.
Chievous (6-6, 225) appeared in five games for Iowa this season, averaging 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest.
Williams will join the Wolves for their Thursday night road matchup against the Salt Lake City Stars. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m.
