Wolves Acquire Crisp & McDowell

The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce a trade today that sees the Wolves' acquire 19-year-old forward CONNOR CRISP and 20-year-old defenceman JIMMY MCDOWELL from the Erie Otters.ÃâàÃâàIn return, the Wolves sent 19-year-old defenceman CORY GENOVESE and Kingston's 3rd round draft pick in 2015 along with a conditional 4th round draft selection in 2016.
CRISP, 6'4", 225 lbs, is a former 2nd round draft selection of the Otters and was recently drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. The big power forward scored 22 goals last season and added 14 assists for 36 points and 139 minutes in penalties. CRISP is currently attending the Canadiens NHL Camp in Montreal.
MCDOWELL, 6', 200 lb defenceman, recorded 14 goals including 8 goals on the power play for the Otters last season.ÃâàMCDOWELL has played four seasons in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals and the Erie Otters. The Dimondale, Michigan native had 19 assists and 33 points last season and finished 7th amongst OHL defencemen with the most goals in the league.

We are building a very mobile blueline that will help create more offence as we head into the new season."ÃâàMcDowell is expected to make his debut with the Wolves this Friday night when the Wolves host the Kitchener Rangers at the Sudbury Arena starting at 7:30 pm.
With the trade, the Wolves give-up Cory Genovese, a defenceman that the Wolves' acquired in January from the Kitchener Rangers.ÃâàThe Cambridge native recorded 1 goal and 5 assists for 6 points and 87 penalty minutes last season. GENOVESE is entering into his third season in the OHL. ÃâàÃâàSmith adds that "Cory has been a warrior for the Wolves during his time with the Wolves and the Otters have acquired a very tough defenceman, shot-blocker and an outstanding young man."
