
Generals Defeat Petes in Peterborough

The Oshawa Generals kicked off their exhibition season Monday in Peterborough when they took on the Petes at the Peterborough Memorial Centre where 2084 fans turned out for the game.
Things got off to a quick start with Oshawa tallying the first goal just 1 minute into the first period when Barrie native Bradley Latour scored assisted from Oshawa's 1st round selection in the 2013 CHL import draft Jimi Kuronen. Oshawa threw 17 shots at Pete's goaltender Andrew D'Agostini in the 1st period but they were only able to beat him the one time.
Oshawa came out firing in the second period with a goal by Vancouver Canucks draft pick and 3rd year player Cole Cassels. Cassels goal came at the 12 minute mark of the second period, the goal was assisted by Bradley Latour and Florida Panthers draft pick Josh Brown. Generals goaltender Daniel Altshuller was strong in net stopping all 11 shots he faced in the period. After 2 periods of play Oshawa were up 2-0.
The 3rd period started quickly for the Pete's as it went from bad to worse. Bradley Latour added his second of the game just 32 seconds into the period and put the Generals up 3-0. The goal was assisted by Cole Cassels. Peterborough fought back in the period getting 2 of their own goals, including a shorthanded marker at the 6 minute mark of the 3rd period, but time ran out and the boys from Oshawa came away with the 3-2 victory.
Daniel Altshuller started in net and played the full sixty minutes for the Generals. The Generals outshot the Petes 32 to 21.
