North Bay Battalion News Release

BRAMPTON, Ont. – Battalion left winger Wojtek Wolski has been named the Ontario Hockey League's Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The 18-year-old from Mississauga scored two goals and added four assists for six points last week as the Troops compiled a won-lost-tied record of 2-0-1. Wolski began the week with a goal in the Battalion's 5-2 win over the visiting Erie Otters on Thursday night and had a goal and two assists the following night at Kingston where the Troops played to a 4-4 tie with the Frontenacs. He earned two assists as the Battalion posted a 5-2 home-ice win over the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday.

A first-round pick of the Colorado Avalanche in June's National Hockey League Entry Draft, Wolski leads the Battalion in scoring with 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points in 30 games.

Wolski, who was also named Player of the Week after the first weekend of the 2002-03 campaign, is the first Battalion player to earn the honour since left winger Adam Henrich, who was named Player of the Week in Oct. 2003.
