Hartford Wolf Pack News Release
The Wolf Pack (8-3-1-0, 17 pts.) won two of their three games this past week, to move into a tie for tops in the Eastern Conference. In the Wolf Pack's "school day special", morning-start game at the XL Center Wednesday, the Pack grabbed their first victory over the Albany Devils in three tries on the season, 3-1, on the strength of third-period power-play goals by Ryan Haggerty and Oscar Lindberg. Then, Ken Gernander's club traveled down to Hershey for their first back-to-back road games of the season, and split a pair of contests with the Bears. The Wolf Pack led 2-0 Saturday, after Lindberg and J.T. Miller scored, but Hershey roared back with four goals in the last 9:53 of the third period and handed the Pack a 4-2 defeat. Hartford turned the tables in Sunday's rematch, though, battling back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to post a 3-2 victory, with Lindberg's second goal of the game early in the third period providing the winning margin.

This week:
The Wolf Pack have three games upcoming this weekend, two of them at home. This season's Battle of Connecticut between the Wolf Pack and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers begins with a home-and-home series, Friday night at the XL Center and Saturday evening in Bridgeport, with both games facing off at 7:00 PM. The Pack are then back on home ice on Sunday, for a 3:00 PM game vs. the Manchester Monarchs.
Friday, November 14 vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the XL Center, 7:00 PM
- The Wolf Pack will be conducting a food drive at this game, benefitting Foodshare. Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to the game, and any fan donating five or more cans will receive a voucher for a free ticket to an upcoming Wolf Pack game of their choice.
- Once again this season, at this and all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers at the XL Center, through the start of the second period.
- Also at Friday-night home games again this year, "Hawk's Nest" will be featured in the XL Center's Comcast Coliseum Club, with Bob "Hawk" Crawford, the play-by-play voice of the Wolf Pack, conducting a Wolf Pack-themed interview from 6:00-6:20 PM. Questions and comments will be welcomed from the patrons enjoying the Comcast Coliseum Club's wide array of dining and beverage options. The Comcast Coliseum Club restaurant and bar area is open two hours prior to every Wolf Pack home game, to everyone holding a ticket to the game.
- This is the first of ten games on the year between the Wolf Pack and their Nutmeg-State rivals the Sound Tigers, and the first of five visits by Bridgeport to the XL Center. Last season the two clubs met 12 times, with the Wolf Pack going 7-5-0-0 and winning the last four. At home in 2013-14, the Pack were 4-2-0-0 vs. the Sound Tigers.
- Bridgeport enters the week tied with the Wolf Pack for the Eastern Conference lead at 17 points. Coached by ex-Wolf Pack defenseman Brent Thompson, in his second stint behind the Bridgeport bench, the Sound Tigers are 8-3-0-1 on the year, and 6-1-0-1 in their last eight games.
