Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reassigned Étienne Marcoux to the Utah Grizzlies of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). The Admirals also announce that they have inked free agent Yann Danis to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.

Marcoux, 21, was initially assigned to the Admirals as backup to Ryan Faragher in light of Anaheim's recalls of starters LaBarbera and Igor Bobkov, but did not play. This season, the 6-foot, 155-pound netminder has appeared in four games (0-3-1) with the Grizzlies and recorded a 3.85 goals against average (GAA) and .894 save percentage (SV%). Prior to professional hockey, Marcoux played five years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), racking up a 94-39-14 record as well as a 2.57 GAA and .904 SV% with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and Montreal Juniors.

Danis, 33, has appeared in 53 NHL games and notched a 17-21-4 record, but has bounced between the NHL and AHL since 2011-12. Last year, the Saint-Jérôme, Quebec native played 31 games (9-11-4) with the Adirondack Phantoms, and finished with a 3.01 GAA and .897 SV%. In 2011-12, the 6-foot, 185- pounder set a career-best five shutouts with the Edmonton Oilers' AHL affiliate Oklahoma City.

The Admirals host fellow East Division member Binghamton Senators this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., respectively. Tickets are available for purchase at the Scope Box Office, ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets and charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000.
