Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Chicago Steel used a 5-1 home win against the Waterloo Black Hawks Friday to close within three points of the visitors for the final playoff spot in the USHL Eastern Division.
Goals within the first three minutes by Jak Knelman and Dean Chelios would provide all the offense Chicago would need. Rob Linsmayer added another tally at 13:26 of the opening period.
The lone Black Hawk goal was scored on a Nick Pryor shot from the left point through traffic 42 seconds after the first intermission. Waterloo could not build on Pryor's first Black Hawk goal. Instead, Chicago added to the lead during a power play at 14:40 when Andrew Miller found a loose puck in the crease. John Moore capped the scoring at 18:46.
The Black Hawks return home to host the Lincoln Stars Saturday. Domino's Family Four Packs will be available, including four tickets, four sodas, a souvenir program, and a large Domino's pizza, starting at $44.
