Sioux Falls Slips Past Riders

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Clay Witt made 40 saves and Patrick Divjak broke a 1-1 tie with 3:49 left in the third period as the Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the host RoughRiders 2-1 Friday night.

Divjack buried a Terry Broadhurst centering feed to snap the deadlock and the Stampede went on to win despite being outshot 41-16. Witt stopped 15 shots in both the second and third periods.

The Riders got their only goal when Jared Rickord scored from close range to give Cedar Rapids a 1-0 lead at 9:59 of the first period. The Stampede waited just 92 seconds before evening the score at one apiece. Robbie Vrolyk steered home a centering pass from Matt Farris for the first Sioux Falls goal.
