April 10, 2007 - NBA G League (G League)
Dakota Wizards News Release

BISMARCK N.D., April 10, 2007 - The Dakota Wizards came one step closer to an Eastern Division championship tonight by defeating the Arkansas RimRockers 122-106 at the Bismarck Civic Center. With the victory the Wizards are guaranteed at least one home game in the playoffs.

"It was great to finish our last game at home during the regular season with a win", said head coach Dave Joerger. "The intensity our guys showed tonight is what we are going to need in the playoffs".

Forward Quemont Greer and center Kevin Lyde paced the Wizards, now tied with Idaho for the best record in the league at 31-17. Greer poured in 22 points, while Lyde added 20 points on 8 of 9 shooting from the floor.

The first half was a game of runs, as the Wizards used a 10-0 run midway through the second quarter to increase their lead to 16 with 2 minutes left, but the RimRockers answered with a 9-0 run of their own to finish the half 57-49. The Wizards turned it on in the third quarter outscoring the RimRockers 33-23 to extend their lead to which the RimRockers could not surpass.

The RimRockers, who wrapped up their season with a 16-34 record, were led in scoring by wingman Roger Powell who finished with a game high 24 points. Guard Brandon Dean added 22 points.

The Wizards magic number falls to one with two road games in Austin this weekend to finish the regular season. With one more victory, or a Sioux Falls loss, the Wizards will clinch the Eastern Division title and a first round bye in the post season.
