Wizards to Tipoff D-League Season on November 29th

BISMARCK, ND. August 12, 2008 - The Dakota Wizards open their 2008-09 season in the NBA Development League on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 7 p.m. C.T. when they host the Iowa Energy at the Bismarck Civic Center.

Dakota's 2008-09 home schedule consists of 24 games and is highlighted by the Wizards annual New Year's Eve game against the Erie BayHawks along with 14 weekend games. The weekend games will feature five Saturday evening games, as well as seven Sunday games including two 3pm CST afternoon tip-offs.

"I think our fans will really enjoy this year's schedule, it appears more balanced that last year" said Wizards General Manager Tom Wagganer. "In addition to New Year's Eve, we feel we have several marquee dates that allow us to create more events for our fans. Our weekend dates, especially our Sunday afternoon games will allow families a better chance to enjoy Wizards basketball."

With the addition of the newly expanded Erie BayHawks and the Reno Bighorns, the NBA Development League has expanded to 16 teams in three Divisions, with each team playing 50 games. The Wizards will also take part in the 2009 NBA D-League Showcase that will be held beginning January 5th at McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah. Also highlighting the 2008-09 NBA D-League Schedule is the All-Star Game and Dream Factory which is part of NBA Jam Session presented by adidas at NBA All-Star 2009 in Phoenix AZ.

The Wizards will look to repeat as the Central Division Champions for the 2008-09 season against fellow Division foes, Sioux Falls, Fort Wayne, Iowa, and Erie. The Divisions for the 2008-09 season will break down as follows:

Central Southwest West

Dakota Albuquerque Anaheim

Erie Austin Bakersfield

Fort Wayne Colorado Idaho

Iowa Rio Grande Valley Los Angeles

Sioux Falls Tulsa Reno

Utah
