Wizards to Face the Jam in First Round of Playoffs

Bismarck, N.D. (April. 8, 2012) - The Dakota Wizards (29-21), the No. 4 seed, will face the Bakersfield Jam (28-22), the No. 6 seed in the first round of the 2012 NBA Development League playoffs presented by BBVA. Bakersfield will host Game 1 on Thursday, April, 12, at 9:00 p.m. CST and Dakota will host Game 2 on Sunday, April, 15, at 3:00 pm CST and Game 3 if necessary on Monday April, 16, at 7:00 p.m. CST at the Bismarck Civic Center.
This marks the 14th time the Wizards have advanced to the postseason in their 17-year history in three different leagues. Dakota won six of their last seven games, including a 111-92 win against the Jam on April, 2, giving them a share of the Eastern Conference title. The Jam and the Wizards have met three times this season with Dakota winning two of the three.
For the fourth consecutive year, the top three seeds - the two conference champions and the wild card team with the best regular season record - had the opportunity to select their first round opponent among the four lowest-seeded playoff teams.
The winner of this series will face the winner of the series between the Western Conference Champion and No. 1 overall seed, Los Angeles D-Fenders and the eight-seeded Iowa Energy.
Season ticket holders and sponsors can purchase playoff tickets until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 by contacting the Dakota Wizards office at (701) 258-2255. Tickets will be made available to the public thru the Civic Center Box Office on Thursday, April, 12 at 11:00 a.m.
