Dakota Wizards News Release

Bismarck, N.D. (Feb. 29, 2012) - Dakota spoiled Renaldo Major's return "home" and extended their winning streak to 6 defeating the Bakersfield Jam on Wednesday night, 116-94. Marcus Dove made his presence known early and often finishing the game with a game-high 31 points on 11-14 shooting from the field and 9-9 from the free throw line. Dove also snagged 11 rebounds on the night.

Bakersfield stormed out of the gates putting Dakota in a hole early, 18-8. A Stefhon Hannah 3-point basket sandwiched in between two monstrous dunks by Dove gave the Wizards their first lead of the game at 27-25 with a 2:47 left in the first quarter. The Wizards never looked back from there ending the quarter with a 3-point lead, 36-33. Dove continued his dominance in the second quarter with Dakota pushing their lead to as many as 19 before going on a 14-6 run to end the half with the Wizards leading 68-57. Back-to-back fade away jumpers from Golden State Warriors assignee, Jeremy Tyler, gave the Wizards an 18 point lead and the Jam never got any closer.
