Minnesota Timberwolves Re-Assign Malcolm Lee to NBA D-League Affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce
February 29, 2012 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
NEW YORK, Feb. 29, 2012 - The Minnesota Timberwolves today re-assigned rookie guard Malcolm Lee to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Timberwolves' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment marks the 39th time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and is the second assignment for Lee this season.
Lee (6-5, 200, UCLA) was first assigned to the Skyforce on Feb. 6, appearing in three games and averaging 9.7 points, 6.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 25.3 minutes.
Originally selected 43rd overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2011 NBA Draft, Lee was acquired by the Timberwolves on Draft night and has yet to appear in a regular season game for Minnesota after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 30, 2011.
Prior to his injury, Lee appeared in two preseason games for Minnesota, recording 12 points, five assists and four rebounds in 28 minutes.
Timberwolves fans can stay in step with Lee, who is expected to join the Skyforce this afternoon and be available when the team hosts the Bakersfield Jam tomorrow, by logging onto nba.com/futurecast to watch all of Sioux Falls' games live, online, for free.
