Winterhawks Weekly: Hawks Pick up Four Points During Busy Week
March 14, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Winterhawks went 2-2-0-0 during a busy, travel-intensive week that featured the team's first trip to Victoria in two seasons. After falling to the Royals on Tuesday, the Hawks bounced back to win the rematch on Wednesday before then topping the Thunderbirds in Seattle on Friday. And despite their rousing comeback effort falling just short against Vancouver on Saturday, the Hawks now sit just three points shy of first place in the WHL's Western Conference.
Hot Hawks:
Forward Robbie Fromm-Delorme stretched his goal-scoring streak to four games with tallies on Tuesday and Wednesday, totaling five points in those two tilts.
Forward James Stefan put up another pair of two-point games last week, finding the scoresheet twice in each of Wednesday and Saturday's games. Stefan leads the team with 32 goals on the year - the first Winterhawks to reach the 30-goal mark this season.
Defenseman Clay Hanus found the scoresheet in three of four games last week, including a four-point outburst on Sunday. Hanus leads all WHL blueliners with 62 points this season.
Defenseman Kurtis Smythe also recorded points in three out of last week's four games, posting his first multi-point game in the WHL on Tuesday.

Portland 5 vs Vancouver 6 (Saturday):
