Winterhawks Record Season-High Nine Goals to Conclude Road Schedule
May 9, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
The 12th and final away game of the year for Portland took them to Kennewick, WA, for the first of two head-to-head meetings with Tri-City to end their season.
For the second straight night the Winterhawks took control of the contest early, this time just 5:47 in when Robbie Fromm-Delorme scored his second of the season. The goal would serve as the first of seven straight goals for Portland, as they'd take a commanding 7-0 lead over the game's first 33:25.
Following the only blemish on Brock Gould's night, Portland would tack on two more in the third to conclude the 9-1 affair. The ninth goal of the night was the first in the WHL for forward Marcus Nguyen.
The nine goals are the most by the team this season and included eight players recording multiple points.
Gould had 31 saves in the goaltending effort, moving to 4-1 on the season.
