Winterhawks Reassign Cole Cairns to MJHL

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club today announced the reassignment of forward Cole Cairns, 17, to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), with the team to be determined at a later date.

The move brings the Winterhawks' roster to 29 players, including 6 who remain at NHL training camps.

Cairns, a fourth-round selection by Portland in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, made his WHL debut last season, skating in three games for the Hawks during the 2022-23 campaign. The Winnipeg, Man. native also skated in four preseason games for Portland earlier this month.

Portland's opening night roster will be announced later today.
