The Americans will spend WHL Opening Weekend in Prince George as they kick off the season with a pair of games against the Cougars.

Tri-City also opened the 2022-23 season in Prince George, falling 5-1 on opening night and then defeating the Cougars 8-3 the following night. Over the past five seasons, the Ams are 4-1 in season openers. They have a record of 16-10-1 on opening night since the 96-97 internet era.

Fans can watch a number of new players make their debut with the Ams this weekend! Defenseman Pasha Bocharov is the newest Tri-City American on the roster after being acquired on Wednesday in a trade from the Medicine Hat Tigers. Forwards Jake Gudelj and Brandon Whynott were also acquired in trades by the Ams over the offseason. 2023 Import Draft selection Max Curran (forward, Czechia) will also make his debut with the Americans this weekend.

Seven players on Tri-City's current roster were invited to attend NHL Rookie Camps. NHL Draft picks: Parker Bell (Calgary) and Lukas Dragicevic (Seattle). As well as invites: Tyson Greenway (Toronto), Lukas Matecha (Detroit), Adam Mechura (Boston), Jake Sloan (Edmonton), and Tomas Suchanek (Anaheim). Greenway, Mechura, and Sloan have returned to Tri-City and will join the Americans for opening weekend.
