Winterhawks Announce Final 2010-11 Schedule, Venues
Published on August 10, 2010 under Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release
The Portland Winterhawks will play 18 of their 36 home games during the 2010-11 season at the Rose Garden, an announcement that comes as the Western Hockey league releases its final schedule today.
There were two changes to Winterhawks games from the tentative schedule released on July 28: the first home game of the season will now be played on Monday, September 27 against the Vancouver Giants at the Rose Garden. That game had originally been scheduled for September 28, but by playing on the 27th it will allow both teams a day to travel before they meet in Vancouver on Wednesday, September 29.
In addition, the Winterhawks' second home game against Vancouver has also been moved. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, it will now be played on Wednesday, March 16 instead. The change was made after the Rose Garden became available on that date.
Those games will mark two of the 18 games set for the Rose Garden this season. The Winterhawks open the season with three straight Rose Garden games: September 27 vs. Vancouver, October 2 vs. Seattle and October 3 vs. Lethbridge. The Winterhawks will play three games at the Rose Garden in October, three in November, six in December, one in January and four in March.
The 2010-11 schedule will feature 25 of the team's 36 home games taking place on the weekend, with 10 games on Fridays, nine games on Saturdays, and six games on Sundays.
All games will begin at 7 p.m. except Sunday games, which will begin at 5 p.m. The only exception is the 8 p.m. puck drop on New Year's Eve.
Season tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale now. Prices start at just $10.50 per game while a limited number of front row glass seats are available at only $23.50 per game. Contact the Winterhawks at 503-236-HAWK or seats@winterhawks.com to secure your seat for all 36 home games.
