Vancouver Giants News Release
Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants today released their finalized 2010/11 schedule. The Giants will begin their 10th Anniversary Season in the Western Hockey League at home against the Chilliwack Bruins on Friday, September 24 at 7:30pm. Prior to the game, the Giants will raise their 5th-straight BC Division Championship banner to the Pacific Coliseum rafters.
The Giants will again play 72 regular season games - 36 on the road, and 36 at home at the Pacific Coliseum. On the Home side of the schedule, Giants fans will get to see all but three teams visit the Coliseum this season (with the exceptions being only the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Edmonton Oil Kings and Kootenay Ice). On the Road portion of the schedule, the Giants will only travel as far east as the Central Division this season (Alberta), thus avoiding the much longer trek into the East Division (Saskatchewan/Manitoba).
The Giants will wrap-up their regular season with a 3-game in 3-night weekend, including home games on Friday, March 18 (vs. Kelowna Rockets) and Sunday, March 20 (vs Everett Silvertips). That weekend will mark only the fourth time the Giants will have to play 3-in-3 this season (all occurring between January and March).
