DASH FALL 4-1 IN SERIES OPENER
Dash left-hander Bernardo Flores registered his sixth quality start of the season on Monday, but the Dash recorded a season-low three hits on Buies Creek defeated Winston-Salem 4-1 in the series opener at BB&T Ballpark. Overall, Flores allowed four runs on 10 hits in his seven innings of work. Buies Creek plated a run in the top of the first. After Osvaldo Duarte led off the game with a single against Flores, he eventually scored on a single from Troy Sieber to give the Astros a 1-0 lead. Winston-Salem struck right back in the bottom of the frame. Alex Call singled with one out and then moved to second on a wild pitch. Then, Blake Rutherford singled through the right side to bring around Call for his team-leading 31st RBI of the season. However, after allowing a run in the first, Astros starter Abdiel Saldana finished his outing without allowing another baserunner. The Astros took the lead for good in the third. With runners on second and third, Kristian Trompiz stroked a two-run single to make it a 3-1 contest.
STILL MR. CONSISTENCY
Despite picking up the loss, Flores has now gone at least six innings in seven of his eight starts this season. Overall, the Dash left-hander is 3-3 with a 2.90 ERA in his second go-around in Winston-Salem. Meanwhile, the former USC Trojan has yet to go fewer than five innings in a contest. Flores is currently second in the league in innings pitched.

WE MEET AGAIN, ASTROS
Tuesday marks the second game of a five-game set between the Buies Creek Astros and the Dash from May 21-24 at BB&T Ballpark.
