May 9, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release

The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League announced today the hiring of the new housing director. The Wings welcome Sue Cook to the position.

Each year, over twenty 17-20 years olds come to Aberdeen to compete in the NAHL and continue to train/develop with goals of gaining a collegiate offer or professional contract. These players come from all over. Last season, players came from Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, Colorado, Michigan, New York, Texas, and Maryland. International players also came to Aberdeen last year from Iceland, Germany, and Sweden. Billet families, also known as host families, take these players into their homes for the duration of their time with the Wings. These families are asked to provide the players with their own room, feed the players, and welcome them in as their own.

As Director of Housing, Cook will help recruit billet families and assure that the player and billet family situations are comfortable, providing, and in the best interest of the team. Billet families receive a monthly stippend to help with food costs.

If you would like to be a billet family for the upcoming 2014-2015 season, please email Aberdeen Wings Director of Housing Sue Cook at housing@aberdeenwings.com.
