Tryout Camp Gains Players Exposure
May 9, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Soo Eagles News Release
Players who attend the upcoming Soo Eagles spring tryout camp will not just be showcasing their skills for the North American Hockey League team.
Not only will Eagles coach-general manager Bruno Bragagnolo and head scout Tom Farnquist be evaluating players at the May 16-18 camp but coaches from the Lake Superior State University Lakers, Northern Michigan University Wildcats, Ferris State University Bulldogs and scouts from teams in the Midwest Jr. Hockey League, North American 3 Hockey League, Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the new Canadian International Hockey League will be in attendance at Big Bear Arena in the Michigan Soo.
"That's the thing about a camp like this," said Bragagnolo. "It's not just a tryout for the Soo Eagles. There will coaches from Division 1 (National Collegiate Athletic Association) schools as well as scouts from other junior teams there. There is a lot of exposure for players who attend a camp like this."
Of note, the upcoming Eagles camp is by invitation only and also serves as a prelude to the June 2 NAHL draft.
"All players who attend will have been specifically invited by Bruno or myself," said Farnquist.
