Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings fell to the Minot Minotauros in Friday night's matchup. The final score was 5-1 after 3 periods of hockey. Cole Moore was in net for the Wings once again and saved 24/29 shots. Noah Rupprecht was in net for the Tauros and he managed to save 32/33.
The first period was quick. Not many blown whistles and only 1 goal coming from Chase LaPinta of Minot only 1:08 into the first. Giving them the 1-0 lead after 1.
The second period was a little slower paced. 2 penalties called and 2 goals. The two penalties were on the Wings and the two goals were for Minot. First goal coming from Weston Knox early in the period once again this time 2:16 into the period. The third goal coming from Chase LaPinta again this time on the powerplay giving them a 3-0 lead after 2.
The third period is where the Wings would face a massive hill to climb. Penalty after penalty called on the Wings and some missed calls on either side of the ice gave the Wings 4 penalty kills on the period. They were able to get one goal coming from Nick Comfort giving him his first goal as a Wing. That goal was assisted by Bennett Koupal and Jordan Ronn giving Ronn his first ever NAHL point. The Tauros would then put an end to the game with Chase LaPinta getting his third on the night on the powerplay once again to make it a 4-1 game. And in the closing seconds Kolby Amici would get a short handed goal with 4 seconds left of the game to close it out 5-1.
The Wings are still in the 4th spot in the division with the last playoff spot. They are two points ahead of Minot. Who they will once again be playing Saturday night at the Odde. As always doors open at 5:30 and puck drops at 7:15. Thank a farmer night is tomorrow night that means wear anything Agtegra and get $2 off tickets at the door. Post game party at Wings & Rings following the game.
