Wings Fall to Blizzard 4-1
November 1, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings loaded up the bus and headed South Friday night to take on the Brookings Blizzard. The hosts were anything but welcoming. Just over 2 minutes into the game Brookings was on the board with a goal from Jeszka. Brookings added a goal in the 2nd from Mitchell to take a 2-0 lead into the 3rd.  Aberdeen would finally break onto the scoring sheet 13 minutes into the 3rd off the stick of Jake Leitner, with assists going to newly required Wing Chris Murphy and Tucker DeYoung, but it would be too little too late.  Brookings would add two more late in the 3rd from Cardelli and Elmore to send the Wings home with a 4-1 loss. Shots on goal were 37 to 20 in favor of the Blizzard. Gavin Paczosa was in net for the Wings stopping 33 of the 36 shots. (Brookings final goal was an empty netter).
The Wings return home next Friday night vs. Bismarck and Saturday night vs. Minot. Saturday night is the Out of the Darkness Jersey Auction! All proceeds from the auction will go to help support the NE South Dakota Chapter of Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention.Â
