Motor City Mechanics News Release
KALAMAZOO, MI-Adam Edinger netted his 50th and 51st goals of the season, however, it was not enough as the Mechanics fell 5-3 to the Kalamazoo Wings tonight at Wings Stadium.
With 34 seconds remaining in the first period Adam Edinger buried a shot to place him among the elite goal scorers in UHL history as he netted his 50th goal of the season. With the 50 goals he is now the third 50-goal scorer this season and 28th all time in UHL history with 50 goals in one season.
The Wings proceeded to score three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission. The Mechanics followed that with a goal by Greg Bullock, fresh of the injured list, when he scored in his first game since February 22nd. Newly added amateur, Tyler Donati tallied one of the assists early in the third period.
The two teams then traded goals and ended the game with a 5-3 score as the Wings held on for the win.
Rod Branch made his 68th appearance and made 34 saves in defeat. Edinger was the other goal scorer for the Mechanics.
The Mechanics continue their weekend with a trip to the Quad Cities when they take on the Mallards tomorrow at the Mark and return home on Sunday to take on the Kalamazoo Wings at 5:00 PM.
