Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Aberdeen Wings dropped the first game to the Minot Minotauros on Friday night 4-2. Cole Moore was in net for the Wings making 21/25 saves while giving up all 4 goals. For the Tauros they had Lawton Zacher in net and he made 34/36 saves.
The Wings got on the board first with a goal coming from Michael Casey giving him his 11th goal of the season. The Tauros outshot the Wings 11-8 in the first. It was a back and forth period. With neither team really getting an offensive zone advantage.
In the second Minot got on the board early with a powerplay goal coming from Hunter Longhi. This time the Wings outshot the Tauros 13-7 in the period.
In the third the Tauros blew the game open by scoring 3 straight goals coming from Braden Fischer, Adam Mahler, and Trevor Stachowiak. The Wings finally got on the board late in the third with a power play goal coming from Alexander Gullichsen. The Tauros lead was too big for the Wings to come back and dropped the game.
The Wings will once again face the Minot Minotauros on Saturday March 4th. The puck drop is a 7:15 and we have our Teddy Bear Toss! Make sure to bring those stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after the first Wings goal.
