
Wings Drop Game to Bismarck 4-3

The Aberdeen Wings were in action Friday night against their Central Division rival Bismarck Bobcats. The Wings would come up short in the end 4-3, but would show plenty of solid scoring chances outshooting Bismarck 43 to 31.
In the first period, Bismarck would jump on top about midway through on a goal from Filip Starzynski. In the 2nd period, Bismarck would attack the net again with goals from Huovinen and Diver. Up 3-0 starting the 3rd period, the Aberdeen Wings brought it together with an early goal from Wings forward #14 Erik Gollenbeck (F-Mannheim, Germany) with assists from #2 Ryan Cook (D-Buffalo, NY) and the goalie #30 Henry Dill (G-Columbus, OH). Aberdeen would surrender another goal to Bismarck but would answer back. Scoring at the 12:49 mark on the powerplay was Wings captain #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN) with an assist from #20 Dillon Eichstadt (D-Bemidji, MN). Also scoring in the 3rd period was #15 Jordan Heller (C-Bemidji, MN) with assists from #11 TJ Roo (F-Coon Rapids, MN) and #29 Kyle Kruenegel (D-Manteca, CA). The Wings starting goalie Henry Dill was pulled by Coach Travis Winter for veteran goalie #1 Chad Catt (G-Williamstown, MI) at the 11:40 mark in the 3rd period.
The loss makes the Aberdeen Wings 5-2-0 on the year. Saturday, October 5th they travel to Bismarck to take on the Bobcats in NAHL action. You can hear the game on 107.7 KABD-FM or listen-watch on FASTHockey.com!
