
Shootouts Have Been Jr. Blues Friend

The Jr. Blues hit the road for their first road of series of the year against South Division rival Topeka Roadrunners in the first 2 of 12 games they will play this season. The Jr. Blues won two 4-3 games in shootouts. It was a great start to a long road to the playoffs. The team heads to Johnstown to play the Tomahawks this weekend before its home opener October 11th and 12th.
Jr. Blues Receive NAHL Honorable Mention
Aeschlimann and Curry Recognized
The NAHL announced their North Division Stars of the week on Monday. Patrick Curry and goaltender Sandro Aeschlimann received honorable mention for their efforts at Topeka
Patrick Curry had 2 goals on Friday night. His first was a rebound off a Max Kalter shot and the second came off a forced turnover by Max Kalter who made a great pass so Curry could score a short handed breakaway goal. .
Sandro Aeschlimann was solid again in net stopping 37 of 40 shots in the game and 5 out of 5 shooters in the shootout. On the year he is 3-0 with a .941 SV% and 1.89 GAA.
Jr. Blues Win 2 in Shootouts
Goaltenders Lead the Way
The Jr. Blues kept up their winning streak this past weekend in Topeka against the Roadrunners with two 4-3 shootout wins.
On Friday night, the team jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Patrick Curry and Mike Gambino before Topeka answered with a goal of their own. Curry scored his second of the night giving the Jr. Blues a 3-1 lead heading into the 3rd period. Topeka would find a way to tie the game and send it into a shootout. Sandro Aeschlimann stopped 5 out of 5 shooters and Kyle Shreve would score to give the Jr. Blues the win.
Saturday night the Jr. Blues played catch up most of the night as the would not give up. They got goals from Michael Mylchreest, Brendan Jacques, and Davies Dekorte. It was Stefanios Lekkas's turn to shut the door in the shoot out stopping 6 out of 7 before Mike Gambino would again win the game with a shootout goal.
Jr. Blues Travel to Johnstown
Early Road Test
The Jr. Blues head to Johnstown for a Saturday / Sunday series with the Tomahawks. Johnstown is 4-4-1 sitting in 2nd place, 1 point ahead of the Jr. Blues in the North Division.
Saturday's game will be at 7:00 pm EST and Sunday's game will be at 3:00 pm EST. Fans can watch the games live on www.fasthockey.com

Team to Host Soo Eagles October 11 and 12th
Friday and Saturday October 11th and 12th kicks off the new season of Jr. Blues hockey at the Nelson Center. Games are at 7:05 pm.
Friday Night is Neuhoff Jr. Blues poster night. The first 250 fans will receive a Jr. Blues poster.
Saturday Night is Skate with the Jr. Blues. Fans get to lace up their skates and hit the ice with the current team after the game. Don't miss the chance to meet the team and get the autographs of this years Jr. Blues.
