Wingnuts Draw Grand Prairie in Playoffs

WICHITA, KS- The Central Division champion Wichita Wingnuts (68-32) face the Grand Prairie AirHogs in the American Association Division Series beginning Wednesday night at Grand Prairie's QuikTrip Park.
The AirHogs (54-46, South Division champion) host the first two games of the series, while the Wingnuts host Game Three on Friday, September 6th at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Wichita also hosts the "if necessary" Games Four and Five on Saturday and Sunday respectively. First pitch for all five games is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The series marks the second postseason meeting between the two clubs. The AirHogs defeated the Wingnuts in four games in the Division Series in 2011, and went on to win the American Association championship.
Junior Guerra (9-4, 3.30) takes the mound for the Wingnuts in Game One. Wichita follows with Chris Smith (8-4, 3.55), Anthony Capra (7-2, 3.96), and Justin Klipp (8-3, 3.89). The Wingnuts' starter for a potential game five is yet to be determined.
The winner advances to the American Association Championship Series against either the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (62-38, North Division champion) or the Gary SouthShore RailCats (58-41, wild card winner).
