Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

The American Association announced today that Winnipeg Goldeyes outfielder Ray Sadler has been named the league's Pointstreak Batter of the Week, for the week ending September 1.

Sadler, 32, hit .478 (11-for-23) in six games last week and had multiple hits in five of the six contests. He also knocked out three home runs and racked up eight RBI. His best performance was Wednesday night against the St. Paul Saints when he went two-for-three with a double, a home run and four RBI.

Since coming over from the Kansas City T-Bones earlier this season, the former Pittsburgh Pirate is hitting .313 with 11 home runs and 50 RBI in 58 games.

This marks back-to-back weeks a member of the Goldeyes has won a weekly award. Matt Rusch was named the American Association's Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week last week.

Winnipeg concludes its 2013 season tonight against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Game time is 7 p.m.

Tickets for all Goldeyes games can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 1-855-GOLDEYE, clicking on Ticketmaster.ca or visiting any Ticketmaster location, including the Shaw Park box office.
