November 12, 2021 - NBA G League (G League)
Windy City Bulls News Release
The Windy City Bulls, presented by BMO, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, fell to the Cleveland Charge 105-88 Thursday, Nov. 11 at the Wolstein Center. Windy City's Daniel Oturu reached the 20-point mark for the third-consecutive game and grabbed 13 rebounds in the losing effort.
The Charge entered the game with the fifth-highest scoring offense in the league, averaging 120.5 points per game. However, they struggled to score early against the Bulls, managing just 15 points in the first quarter. The Bulls put up 20 points of their own to take a five-point lead heading into the second period.
However, the Cleveland offense woke up in the second quarter. With nine points and a pair of assists in the period, Charge guard Malik Newman accounted for 15 of the team's 30 points as Cleveland took a five-point lead into halftime.
The Bulls struggled in the third quarter, getting outscored 29-15 to fall behind 74-55 heading into the final 12 minutes. While it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit, the Bulls outscored the Charge 33-31 in the final quarter for a final score of 105-88.
Ethan Thompson made an impact across the board for the Bulls, scoring 15 points, grabbing seven rebounds and blocking a pair of shots. Devon Dotson and Scottie Lindsey also reached double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Troy Baxter Jr., who was inserted into the starting lineup for the first time this season, finished with four points and four rebounds.
For Cleveland, six players scored in double figures, led by 7-foot-5 Tacko Fall's 23 points on 10-for-13 shooting and 12 rebounds.
With the loss, the Bulls fall to 1-2. The Charge entered the game with an 0-2 record and picked up their first victory at the Wolstein Center after relocating from Canton prior to the season.
The game was the first half of a back-to-back series between the Bulls and Charge. The two squads are slated to face off again on Friday, Nov. 12 at the Wolstein Center. Tip-off for that game is set for 5 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and NBAGLeague.com.
