
Windy City Beats RiverHawks, Avoids Sweep

Crestwood, ILâ The Windy City ThunderBolts rallied to defeat the Rockford RiverHawks 9-5 and avoided the sweep.
Aaron McEachran got the scored starting in the top of the fourth inning when he hit a grand slam home run that gave the RiverHawks the 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth inning Joe Kalczynski hit a RBI single making the score 4-1. Later in the inning Sam Flamont hit a three-run home run that tied the game at four runs.
Flamont scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning on an error by RiverHawks catcher Mike Landry. Windy City added four more runs in the inning including a two-run home run by Gilbert Barry.
Dave Bernstine hit a RBI double as a pinch hitter in the top of the ninth inning making the score 9-5.
Brian Bogs (1-0) got the win in relieve and Matt Hines (10) got the save for Windy City. Scott Sobkowiak (3-2) took the loss for the RiverHawks.
The RiverHawks return to Marinelli Field on Wednesday at 7:05 to take on the Springfield/Ozark Ducks. Wednesday will be the "Dog Days Of Summer" sponsored by Petco and WREX-13. Call (815) 964-BALL for tickets.
