Windsor Thumps London in Home Opener

(WINDSOR, ONTARIO) The Windsor Express have delivered the first blow against their 401 rivals.

Windsor opened the game on a 12-0 run and finished with 39 forth-quarter points on their way to a 113-105 win over the two time defending champion, London Lightning.

The Express got a big boost from point guard, Stefan Bonneau, who started the game and finished with a career-high 31 points in 39 minutes of work.

Key contributions from Chris Commons (23 points, 8 rebounds) and a 15 point performance from Papa Oppong helped lead the charge.

Windsor led 50-47 at the half, and after a see-saw third quarter, took control in the final frame, outscoring London by 13 points.

Jaytornah Wisseh had a team high 24 points for the Lightning.

The Express now travel to Ottawa, for the first game in the history of the Skyhawks, played at 7pm on Saturday, November 2nd.

The next Windsor home game is Sunday, November 17th at 2pm against the expansion Brampton A's.
