(London, ON) The Mississauga Power tipped off the regular season tonight against the London Lighting at the Budweiser Gardens. At the half, Lewis had 12 points for the Power. London battled back to get within 9 points going into halftime. Tim Ellis and Elvin Mims each had 10 for London. London continued their hot streak heading out of halftime and eventually extended their lead up to 13 by the end of the third quarter.

The Power gathered for a run in the 4th and chipped away at London's lead. The team received a big boost from this year's #1 overall pick, Alex Johnson, who scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half. The team rallied together to take a 97-95 lead over London with less than a minute to play in the game. Nick Okorie hit a go ahead lay up with 20 seconds left in the game to put the nail in the coffin and extend the Power lead to 99-95. The final score was 99-97. Morgan Lewis had 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists for the Power while William "Bo" Harris chipped in with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Garret Williamson had 25 points and 11 rebounds for London. Bo Harris was ecstatic about the victory: "It was a great win for us, we came out in the first quarter and had a great run. They fought back and got back in it. The game of basketball is about runs and we knew they'd make a push. We weathered the storm and pushed back and ended up with a great W!"

The Power will return home to play their home opener at the Hershey Centre on November 5th.
