Windsor Out-Guns Wolves

Sudbury Wolves News Release
The Sudbury Wolves dropped a 4-1 decision to the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday night as the Wolves began a three-game-in-three-day road trip.
David Zeppieri scored his first OHL goal and it was a beauty as he ripped a hard wrist shot in the top corner of the net to give the Wolves an early 1-0lead. Cole Mayo and Brady Pataki picked-up assists on the goal.
The Spitfires quickly tied the contest as Anthony Stefano beat Wolves' goaltender Troy Timpano as Stefano was able to skate directly to the high slot. Timpano was well-out of his crease to narrow the angle but Stefano's shot was a perfect one, just inside the far post.
The two teams played to a scoreless second period and shots on goal were 18-18 after two periods of play. The Wolves lost Jacob Harris early in the game as the veteran forward took a slap-shot on the knee and the Georgetown native left the game and did not return. Harris is doubtful to play for the remainder of the weekend as a result of the injury. The Wolves were also without the services of Travis Wood and Trenton Bourque, who were both out of the line-up with injuries.
The Spitfires dominated the third period on the strength of four minutes of power play time to start the third period and the Wolves appeared to fade under the pressure as the Spitfires threw everything that they had at the Wolves and took a commanding 3-1 lead before adding an empty net goal. Both teams were 0 for 4 on the power play. Final shots on goal finished 37-23 in favour of Windsor.
Wolves' goaltender Troy Timpano was absolutely outstanding in this game and repeatedly gave the Wolves a chance to win the contest with outstanding saves. The Windsor goalie was no slouch either as he robbed Brody Silk and a number of would-be Wolves' goal scorers with highlight reel saves.
The Wolves now embark for a road game in Saginaw on Friday night and will wrap-up the trip in Plymouth on Saturday night.
