Wind Surge Walk-off to Victory

WICHITA, KS - The Wind Surge came from behind after Frisco took an early lead after Will Holland hit a walk off sacrifice bunt combined with a Frisco throwing error. Wichita won the game 7-6 and Frisco now leads the series three games to two.

The RoughRiders got on the board first in the ball game. Josh Hatcher hit a solo home run over the right center field wall for an early Frisco lead in the top of the second. Then in the top of the third Chris Seise hit a solo home run over the left field wall.

Wichita put up a run of their own in the bottom of the third. Yunior Severino grounded out to second base but Will Holland was able to reach home from third to earn Severino an RBI.

Alerick Soularie tied the ball game up in the bottom of the fourth for the Wind Surge. He hit an RBI triple off a line drive that ricocheted off the right center field wall. Seth Gray then put the Wind Surge in the lead with an RBI single.

Frisco took the lead back in the top of the fifth. Surge relief pitcher Denny Bentley came into the game with the bases loaded and walked a batter to force a run to score. Then Kellen Strahm hit a two RBI double on a ground ball to center field.

Yunior Severino hit his record setting 23rd home run of the season for the Wind Surge in the bottom of the fifth. It was the fifth game in a row that Severino has hit a home run which is a new record for the Wind Surge franchise.

Frisco added another run to their lead when Chris Seise hit an RBI single on a sharp ground ball to center field.

Severino set another Wind Surge record in the bottom of the seventh. This time he broke the record for the most multi home run games in a season when he hit his second home run of the game. The 438 foot two-run home run tied the ball game up and made it the fifth multi home run game of the season for Severino.

The game went into the bottom of the ninth as a tie ball game. After Frisco pitching hit two Surge batters Will Holland hit a sacrifice bunt that combined with a throwing error to give the Wind Surge a walk off victory.

Travis Adams made his team leading 18th start of the season for the Wichita Wind Surge. He pitched four innings where he gave up five earned runs off five hits. He struck out one batter and walked four more.

The starting pitcher for Frisco was Dane Acker. He pitched three full innings without giving up a hit but he did allow one unearned run. He struck out five batters and walked three more.

The Wichita Wind Surge improve to (11-15, 39-55) and the Frisco RoughRiders fall to (14-12, 45-49).

NOTES: Severino extends his RBI streak to six straight games, his games with a run streak to eight and games with a home run to five. He also set the franchise record for the most multi home run games with five.
