HAMPTON, V.A. - The Peninsula Pilots score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to come from two runs back to defeat the Wilson Tobs 4-3 and sweep a doubleheader from Wilson on Friday night at War Memorial Stadium.
Hart Mizell (L, 1-3) allowed three runs in the seventh inning on two singles and a pair of sacrifice flys. With two outs and the game tied at three, Corey Daniels chopped a ball to third and beat the rap at first to keep the inning alive, on the play, Zac MacAneny, kept running around third and won the game for the Pilots.
In the seventh, Wilson (3-7) was able to get the tying and go ahead run home on back-to-back bases loaded walks from Stephen Richter. Phillip Williams doubled to lead off the inning which chased Chris Rowley from the game before Richter walked all four men he faced to give the Tobs a lead.
Wilson was able to tack on another run when Geoff Jimenez grounded out to plate a run and give the Tobs the two-run advantage before they lost it in the seventh.
Peninsula (5-4-1) scored the first run of the game in the fifth inning as Ryan Yuengel allowed a pair of base runners which allowed Zac MacAneny to lift a fly ball to left field to score Josh Eldridge and give the Pilots a one-run advantage.
In the first game of the twin bill, the Pilots scored a run in the last of the 11th inning as Andrew Amaro scored on Daniel Grauer's infield single to lift Peninsula to the 2-1 victory.
