Wilson promoted to Tacoma, Parker to DL; Crabbe, Downs to Jaxx

PEARL, MISS. (JULY 27, 2009) - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster moves affecting the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx.

RHP Kyle Parker has been placed on the 7-Day DL (right toe injury) retroactive to July 21st. Parker leads the Diamond Jaxx with 19 starts, and 106.2 innings pitched.

OF Mike Wilson has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma. Wilson played in 26 games for the Diamond Jaxx this season. Wilson hit three homers and had seven RBI in a four day span from July 4th to July 7th.

INF Callix Crabbe has been activated to the Diamond Jaxx roster from Triple-A Tacoma and is active for tonight's game against the Mississippi Braves. Crabbe played 21 games for the Padres in 2008. In 34 at-bats, he scored four runs on six hits and had two RBI. He had six strikeouts, walked four times, and compiled a .176 batting average. San Diego designated him for assignment on May 12, and was returned to the Brewers organization on May 16. Upon returning to Milwaukee's organization, Crabbe was assigned to Triple-A Nashville. He became a free agent after the 2008 season and signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.

RHP Brodie Downs has been activated to the Diamond Jaxx roster from Triple-A Tacoma and is scheduled to make a start on Wednesday against the Mississippi Braves. Downs was placed on the DL and has not pitched for Tacoma since July 11th. In 2008 Downs spent the entire season with West Tennessee, appearing in 36 games, 9 of those for starts. He started season in the bullpen, before moving into the starting rotation on July 1. His record was 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA.
