
Willians Astudillo Named to SAL Post-Season All-Star Team

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Lakewood's Willians Astudillo was named to the South Atlantic League Post-Season All-Star Team, it was announced on Thursday by league president Eric Krupa.
He becomes the 13th BlueClaw (11th player) in franchise history to be named to the Post-Season All-Star Team, and first since LHP Jesse Biddle and DH Jim Murphy following the 2011 season. (Two BlueClaws managers, Dusty Wathan in 2009 and Mark Parent in 2010, were also named to the team.)
Astudillo, selected by vote of the league's managers and coaches, also represented the BlueClaws in the All-Star Game on June 17th in Hickory, North Carolina.
Through games of August 27th, Astudillo is batting .337 with 4 HRs and 60 RBIs. He leads the South Atlantic League in hitting and is bidding to become just the second player in franchise history, following 2006 OF Mike Spidale (.345) to win the league's batting title.
