LAKEWOOD, NJ - Yoel Mecias threw six scoreless innings to lead the BlueClaws to a 3-0 win in the final home game at FirstEnergy Park this year.

Mecias (3-3) struck out a season-high seven in throwing six innings for the first time with the BlueClaws this year. Delvi Francisco followed with two scoreless innings and Joey DeNato threw a scoreless 9th for his first professional save.

Willians Astudillo had three hits for Lakewood, raising his average to .340, six points ahead of Delmarva's Chance Sisco in the South Atlantic League batting race.

Lakewood (24-40/51-82) snapped a four-game losing streak, and elminated Hickory (36-30/77-58), who won the first two games of the series, from post-season contention. Hagerstown, with Lakewood's loss, clinched a playoff berth.

After each team left the bases loaded in the first five innings, the BlueClaws opened the scoring in the 6th inning on an RBI groundout by Willians Astudillo. In the 7th inning, Andrew Pullin's RBI triple drove in Malquin Canelo and Pullin scored on a wild pitch for the final run of the night.

Hickory starter Tyler Smith (7-6) gave up one run in six innings and took the loss while Scott Williams surrendered the final two runs in the 7th inning.

The announced crowd of 8,112 gives the BlueClaws a season attendance of 380,573. They have led the South Atlantic League and New Jersey in attendance in all 14 years of existence.

The BlueClaws will finish the season with four games in Hagerstown. RHP Yacksel Rios (6-1, 3.31) starts the first game on Friday night opposite RHP Robbie Dickey (1-0, 0.00).
