San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts who needed a victory after dropping the first two games of the four game series in Edinburg, won in big fashion in an early morning contest on Tuesday. It was "Kids Day" at Edinburg Baseball Stadium, where the local elementary schools got out to catch a professional game, with a special time for them, beginning at 10:30 am. It was the Roadrunners who were treated like kids though, as the Colts used dominant starting pitching and a ton of runs, leading to a much needed victory, with the Colts beginning the season just 1-5.

A former White Sox and Marlins draft pick went at it on Tuesday, as Logan Williamson and Graham Miller faced off. Both posted zeros for the first five innings, which looked like it would be a pitching dual and a run could decide it. It would turn out to be anything but that, as the Colts backed Logan's great performance the following inning when they scored eight times, as twelve men came to bat in the sixth. The big inning was highlighted by a Landon Camp (4) three-run homer and a Jason Crosland single, that drove in two.

San Angelo would add on two more the following inning to make it 10-0. The Roadrunners would score four in the seventh, but that would be as close as they got, as San Angelo went on to win 11-4. Logan Williamson (1-0) was brilliant delivering the Colts second straight quality start going six innings, scattering five hits, three runs, walking three, while striking out seven.

On Wednesday the Colts and Roadrunners finish their series as San Angelo sends out right-hander Chandler Barnard (1-0, 5.40), against fellow righty Aaron Guerra (1-0, 2.25) for Edinburg. It all begins with the pre-game show at 6:45 and the first pitch is at 7:05 on 101.9 "The Fire".
