
Roadrunners Drop Day Game Against Colts

EDINBURG, Texas--- The Edinburg Roadrunners had their two-game win streak snapped after an 11-4 loss at the hand of the San Angelo Colts Tuesday afternoon at Edinburg Baseball Stadium in front of 4,102 in attendance for Kid's Day.
Corey Goudeau (0-1) held the Colts scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when they sent 12 batters to the plate and scored eight runs on six hits. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run by Landon Camp that helped the Colts gain the 8-0 lead.
San Angelo (2-5) added two more runs in the top of the seventh. Danny Hernandez hit an RBI single that allowed Camp to score from third. A fielding error later in the inning allowed Jon Edwards to score extending the Colts lead to 10-0.
The Roadrunners (3-4) finally got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh. Back-to-back singles by Gabe Memmert and Adam Gordon and a walk to Michael Lewis loaded the bases for Cody McMorris. McMorris then hit an RBI ground out that allowed Memmert to score from third. Brandon Wilkerson then followed with a three-run home run making the score 10-4 in favor of the Colts.
In the top of the ninth, San Angelo added a run on an RBI ground out by Ronnie Gaines that allowed Danny Hernandez to score from third pushing their lead 11-4.
David Parker got the final three outs of the game giving the Colts the 11-4 victory and snapping the Roadrunners two-game win streak.
Logan Williamson (1-0) got the win after pitching six innings and allowing three runs while striking out seven.
The Roadrunners and Colts wrap up their four-game series Wednesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium. Aaron Guerra (1-0) is expected to face Chandler Barnard (1-0) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
