
Williams pushes Toros over Arsenal

AUSTIN, TX - Marcus Williams scored 22 points and Charles Gaines added 19 as the Austin Toros defeated the Anaheim Arsenal 101-95 on Wednesday night at the Austin Convention Center.
All five Toros starters scored in double figures, combining for 88 points on the evening. San Antonio Spurs assignee Malik Hairston scored 12 points and grabbed two rebounds for the Toros, who improved to 15-6 on the season.
"We did a good overall job against a team we had never played before, I thought we shared the ball well," Toros head coach Quin Snyder said. "We still need to work on heads-up defense but our team defense overall was good."
Austin pulled away from Anaheim in the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 13 points in the final period. The Toros beat the Arsenal for the first time ever in franchise history at the Austin Convention Center.
James White led the Arsenal in scoring with 31 points on 9-of-18 shooting. White, who scored 47 points last night against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, also grabbed five rebounds and two assists. With the loss, the Arsenal fell to 7-16.
Other Toros scoring in double figures included Andre Brown with 18 points and 17 from guard Carldell Johnson.
