SIMS EARNS CALL UP TO PHOENIX: Iowa Energy center Courtney Sims yesterday earned a Gatorade Call-Up from the Phoenix Suns, making him the fourth NBA D-League player to be called-up to the NBA this season. Sims, 6-11, had started all of the Energy's 17 games this season, and averaged 22.4 points and 11.6 rebounds, scoring in double-figures in every game, including 12 double-doubles (points/rebounds). He recorded season highs of 36 points and 16 rebounds in a Dec. 28 victory over the Utah Flash
WALKER RUSSELL, JR. NAMED PERFORMER OF THE WEEK: Russell of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants was yesterday named NBA D-League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 12, 2009. Russell is the first Mad Ant to earn the honor this season. For the week, Russell averaged 28.5 points and 16.0 assists in two wins over the Sioux Falls Skyforce, including season-high 30-points and 18 assists on Thursday. Russell, a 6-0 guard, is leading the NBA D-League with 11.6 assists per game this season.

TUESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Tuesday's games
James White scored an NBA D-League season-high 47 points for Anaheim to go with 11 rebounds in the loss to Rio Grande Valley.
Trent Strickland led Rio Grande Valley with 28 points, while Kurt Looby chipped in with 17 points and 12 boards and Jared Jordan scored 18 points and dished out 12 assists in the win over Anaheim.
Colorado's Eddie Gill scored 11 points and passed 11 assists as teammate Josh Davis scored 22 and Dominique Coleman scored 20 and grabbed 10 boards as the 14ers snapped the Thunderbirds seven-game winning streak.
Will Conroy recorded a game-high 33 points to go with 11 assists and nine rebounds for Albuquerque in the loss. Teammate Jasper Johnson scored 16 and pulled down 11 boards.
Utah's Andre Ingram led the way for the Flash with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Kyrylo Fesenko, on assignment from the Utah Jazz, scored 20 points and collected 10 rebounds as six Flashmen scored in double figures.
CJ Giles netted a team-high 22 points and 12-rebounds for the D-Fenders in the road loss.
Bakersfield's Jeff Trepagnier finished with a team-high 22 points to go with Trey Johnson's 20 points and 16 assists in the win over Reno.
Patrick Ewing, Jr. recorded a game-high 30 points for the Bighorns to go with nine rebounds off the bench.
